Pearl Jam Exhibition Opening At Museum of Pop Culture

Pearl Jam will be the subject of a new exhibition at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) in Seattle. Billed as the most extensive celebration yet of the group’s music, the exhibit will feature more than 200 artifacts provided directly from members of the band or their Seattle warehouse. The exhibition, dubbed “Pearl Jam: Home & Away,” will coincide with the band’s Seattle concerts and opens to the general public on August 11th. (more…)

Morello Hopes Unreleased Audioslave Music Will Be Issued One Day

1024px-Day_28_Occupy_Wall_Street_Tom_Morello_2011_Shankbone_6Prophets Of Rage guitarist Tom Morello told Music Radar in an interview that there is “great” unreleased music from his previous band Audioslave that he hopes to issue one day. Morello said he even spoke with late Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell about the unheard material, saying, “I hope it does (get released), because there’s great Audioslave material in the vault. It’s so sad: we had talked about playing more Audioslave shows and releasing that material and doing something together in the not-too-distant future.” (more…)

Producer Auctioning Three Mics Used For Last Nirvana Album

EMP_Museum_-_Nirvana_(15632798960)The producer of Nirvana‘s final studio album, 1993’s In Utero, will auction off three microphones used during the making of that album. Steve Albini called the mics — an Electro-Voice PL20 and two vintage Lomo 19A9s — “irreplaceable,” adding, “They stopped being microphones and now they’re artifacts. I feel like I should get them into the hands of somebody who would take care of them and not put them at risk in the hectic environment of a recording studio.” (more…)
